How to delete a number?

Please refer to the steps mentioned below to delete a number from your account:

1. Log in to your CallHippo dashboard.

2. Navigate to the “Number and DID” section and click on the “Numbers” option.

3. Click on the “delete” button visible in red beside the number that you want to delete from your active numbers.

4. Click on the “I agree” button to confirm the deletion of the selected number.

The number is now deleted from your account.

Important information: 

  • You can restore a deleted number directly from your account dashboard within 8 days of the deletion date.

  • Only the owner or admin can delete a number from the CallHippo account.

  • Please note that you will be charged for the number you restore on a pro-rated basis.

  • However, if you still want to check the possibility of the number getting restored to your account, you can reach out to the support team via email at support@callhippo.com

  • Please note that you will be charged $30 for the number restoration for this alternative process.

  • Who can delete a number from a CallHippo account-

     - Only the account owner or an admin has permission to delete a number. 

  • What if I miss the 8-day restoration window?

    - You can contact our support team at support@callhippo.com to check if restoration is possible through an alternate process. 

  • Is there a fee if support restores the number after 8 days?

    - Yes. A $30 restoration fee applies if the number is restored by the support team after the 8-day period.

  • Is there any charge when restoring a number within 8 days from the dashboard?

    - Yes. A pro-rated charge will apply when restoring a number directly from the dashboard. 

  • Can I delete a number if I’m not an admin or owner?

    - No. Only admins or the account owner can delete numbers.

    - Yes. Once deleted, the number is removed instantly and will no longer function.


How to restore a deleted number to your account

Accidentally deleted a number. Or did your number get released after account cancellation?

Good news! You can restore your number within 8 days of deletion or release.

When Can a Number Be Restored?

You can restore a number if:

  • It was deleted accidentally

  • It was released due to account cancellation.

  • The deletion happened within the last 8 days

After 8 days, the number cannot be restored directly from the dashboard.

How to Restore a Deleted Number (Step-by-Step)

  • Log in to your CallHippo Dashboard

  • Go to Numbers & DID → Numbers

3. Click on the ‘Deleted Number’ option.

4. Click on the restore action button visible on the screen beside the recently deleted number, as visible in the screenshot.

5. Once clicked, the system will prompt for confirmation to complete the number restoration process. Please confirm to proceed. That’s it! Your number will be added back to your account.

Important: Activate the Number for Calling.

After restoration, the number must be allocated to an agent to start calling.
