Troubleshooting CallHippo on iOS

Before troubleshooting, ensure the following:

  • VPN is disabled
     

  • Low Power Mode is turned off
     

  • CallHippo app is updated from the App Store
     

  • iOS version is up to date
     

  • Microphone, notifications, and background app refresh permissions are enabled

     

If the issue continues, refer to the sections below.

Login Issues

If you’re unable to log in:

  • Verify your email address and password
     

  • Use Forgot Password if needed and reset your credentials
     

  • Close and reopen the app after resetting the password
     

  • Check your internet connection (Wi-Fi or mobile data)
     

  • Ensure Face ID or Touch ID permissions are enabled if used
     

  • Uninstall and reinstall the app if the issue persists

     

Outgoing Call Issues

If calls are not connecting or dropping:

  • Enable microphone access: Settings > CallHippo > Microphone
     

  • Enter the number with the correct country code
     

  • Switch between Wi-Fi and mobile data
     

  • Disable VPN or firewall apps
     

  • Check Bluetooth or AirPods audio routing
     

  • Restart your iPhone
     

  • Update the CallHippo app if available

     

Incoming Call Issues

If incoming calls are delayed or not ringing:

  • Enable notifications: Settings > Notifications > CallHippo
     

  • Turn on sounds, banners, and lock screen alerts
     

  • Enable Background App Refresh for CallHippo
     

  • Turn off Low Power Mode
     

  • Disable Focus or Do Not Disturb mode
     

  • Allow CallHippo under Cellular settings
     

  • Restart your device and keep the app running in the background

     

App Crashing or Freezing

If the app crashes or becomes unresponsive:

  • Force close and reopen the app
     

  • Offload and reinstall the app from iPhone Storage settings
     

  • Install pending iOS or app updates
     

  • Restart your iPhone
     

  • Free up device storage if low
     

  • Reinstall the app if the issue continues
     

Auto Logout or Session Timeout

If the app logs you out automatically:

  • Ensure the account is not logged in on another device
     

  • CallHippo supports only one active device per account
     

  • Enable Background App Refresh
     

  • Disable Low Power Mode
     

  • Restart your iPhone
     

  • Keep the app updated
     

Final Checklist

If the issue is still unresolved:

  • Restart your iPhone
     

  • Confirm microphone, notifications, and background refresh permissions
     

  • Disable VPN, firewall, or privacy-blocking apps
     

  • Check Screen Time or App Limits
     

  • Switch between Wi-Fi and mobile data
     

  • Avoid force-closing the app frequently
     

  • Reinstall the CallHippo iOS app
