Troubleshooting CallHippo on Android

Before troubleshooting, confirm the following:

  • VPN is disabled

  • Battery optimization is turned off for CallHippo 

  • CallHippo app is updated from the Play Store 

  • Android OS is up to date
     

If the issue persists, refer to the sections below

Login Issues

If you’re unable to log in:

  • Open the CallHippo app and tap Forgot Password 

  • Reset your password using the link sent to your email 

  • Reopen the app and log in with the new credentials 

  • Clear app cache: Settings > Apps > CallHippo > Storage > Clear Cache 

  • Ensure a stable internet connection (Wi-Fi or mobile data) 

Outgoing Call Issues

If outbound calls are not connecting:

  • Enable microphone permission: Settings > Apps > CallHippo > Permissions 

  • Dial numbers with the correct country code 

  • Clear app cache if calls disconnect immediately 

  • Switch between Wi-Fi and mobile data 

  • Restart your phone 

  • Ensure VPN is disabled and the network is stable 

Incoming Call Issues

If incoming calls are not received:

  • Enable notifications: Settings > Apps > CallHippo > Notifications 

  • Disable battery optimization: Settings > Battery > Battery Optimization > CallHippo > Don’t Optimize 

  • Turn off Do Not Disturb 

  • Allow background activity for CallHippo

  • Disable third-party battery or performance optimizer apps
     

App Crashing or Freezing

If the app crashes or freezes:

  • Clear cache and data: Settings > Apps > CallHippo > Storage 

  • Check for app updates in the Play Store 

  • Restart your phone after updating 

  • Ensure sufficient device storage and supported Android version 

  • Reinstall the app if the issue continues 

Auto Logout or Session Timeout

If you’re logged out frequently:

  • Make sure the account is not logged in on another device 

  • Disable battery optimization for CallHippo 

  • Enable background data usage 

  • Keep the app updated
     

Final Checklist

If the issue remains unresolved:

  • Restart your phone 

  • Verify all permissions are enabled 

  • Check parental controls or device management restrictions 

  • Avoid force-stopping the app 

  • Disable VPNs, firewalls, or privacy tools
